Here's a photo by Saul Leiter from 1958. It appears to have been taken at a beach cabin, perhaps a vacation home. The large window looks out to the driveway, the garage, and beyond to the sea. She lounges like a cat in a spot of sun. It must be vacation. Why put on clothes? Why rush?
It amazes me that a snapshot taken more than half a century ago can feel so current, as if this very scene could be taking place last summer, or next.
